Mural_2Mill Run Exhibits a Blend of Art and Technology
Ginny Claire Kim, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and a former Mill Run Elementary School student, telephoned Mill Run Principal Paul Vickers over the summer to ask if she could paint a mural for her former elementary school.  Full Story
GolfRaiders Win Region II Golf Championship

Kristi Lincicome, a government teacher at Loudoun Valley High School, has been voted the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year by the employees of the Leesburg Wal-Mart store.  Full Story

The Art Department of Loudoun County Public Schools will host an art portfolio information session from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th, in the School Board Meeting Room of the LCPS Administrative Offices at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.
Valley’s Jackson Headed to Space Competition in Russia
Loudoun Valley High School senior Kaylyn Jackson will participate in the International Space Olympics from October 14th to October 26th in Korolev, Russia.
Potowmack Elementary Celebrates 3rd Annual Walk to School Week
Potowmack Elementary will hold its third annual Walk to School Week (IWALK) from October 6th through 10th. Potowmack is one of 19 schools in Virginia holding an IWALK event this year.

School Board Asks for Comments on Potential 2009-2010 School Calendar
The Loudoun County School Board got its first look at the proposed calendar for the 2009-2010 school year at its Tuesday, September 9th, meeting. It is slated to adopt a calendar for the 2009-2010 year at its October 28th meeting.
